Weekdays, opening early and closing late afternoon. Exact times are on the contact page. If your shift work needs something slightly outside that, ask and I will tell you honestly whether it is workable.

You get as much notice as I can give for planned closures, and the yearly closure dates are handed out in advance so you can plan vacation around them. For unexpected illness I let families know first thing in the morning. This is the real tradeoff of a one-caregiver dayhome and it is worth knowing before you sign.

Breakfast for early arrivals, a morning snack, a hot lunch, and an afternoon snack. All cooked here. Menus follow Canada's Food Guide and rotate so nobody eats the same three lunches forever.

Tell me on the enrolment form and we plan around it. Serious allergies mean the allergen stays out of the house entirely, and I keep an emergency plan and any medication where I can reach it fast.

Cots go down after lunch for anyone who still sleeps. Infants nap on their own schedule. Children who have outgrown naps get quiet activities at the table instead of being made to lie there.

Fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or anything contagious means staying home, and going home if it starts here. It is frustrating when it lands on a workday, and it is also the only thing that keeps an outbreak from running through six families at once.

By staying close and getting ahead of it. Most trouble at these ages comes from being tired, hungry, or stuck without the words. So we name the feeling, offer a way out, and stay with the child until it passes. There is no time-out chair and nobody gets shamed. If something keeps happening we talk about it with you rather than managing it quietly for months.

Very little. There is a television in the playroom and it goes on occasionally, usually for a group movie on a stormy afternoon or a song at circle. It is not the default.

Please do. Bring your child, come in the afternoon when the little ones are up, and take your time. Half an hour is usually enough.

Send a note through the contact form with your child's age and the days you need. I keep the list by start date and let people know as spots open. There is no charge to be on it.
